A useful fit for

Consider the X1+ for a compact U.S. household space if its 59-CFM CADR, four-speed Smart/Sleep controls and washable collector suit your routine. Its 450-sq-ft figure is at one air change per hour; its listed 112-sq-ft recommendation has no named ACH basis. A 4.8-ACH comparison calculation is about 92 sq ft assuming an eight-foot ceiling.

The main tradeoff

Routine cleaning replaces a disposable-cassette habit; washed parts must dry and the wire frame must stay dry. App control, exact max noise, input watts, a separately numeric PM2.5 readout and orientation of the printed dimensions are not established. The listing and offer feed conflict on stock.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is a compact purifier adequate if a 140-square-foot 4.8-ACH minimum is not essential?

At the manufacturer’s 59 CFM CADR and the stated eight-foot-ceiling comparison method, the X1+ is about 92 square feet at 4.8 ACH; that fits the personal-size path but not compact or larger.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is a numeric PM2.5 value on the unit required, rather than AQI and a color indicator?

The page documents an AQI screen and changing side light, but does not establish a distinct numeric PM2.5 display; that essential requirement remains unknown and fails.

Can the X1+ qualify if smartphone app control is essential?

The inspected exact page does not establish app control; the broad path does not require it, but app-essential matching cannot pass on missing evidence.

Airdog X1+: a small-room purifier with washable TPA collectors

The X1+ is the compact end of Airdog’s current X-series lineup: a narrow, upright purifier with four fan settings, a sensor-driven Smart mode, a quieter Sleep mode and washable collecting plates. It makes most sense for a personal office, dorm room or bedroom where the purifier can stay close to the source of the dust or smoke. Its small size is not a reason to treat the largest number on the product page as a normal high-cleaning-rate room rating.

Read the room figures at their stated rate

Airdog’s product page lists a 59 CFM CADR, a 112-square-foot “recommended coverage,” and a maximum 450-square-foot area at one air change per hour. Those figures answer different questions. The 450-square-foot number is explicitly the slow one-change-per-hour claim, not a room-size promise for repeated particle removal. The manufacturer does not give the ACH basis beside its 112-square-foot recommendation. For a comparable 4.8-ACH estimate, this review uses the published CADR and a stated eight-foot ceiling assumption: 59 CFM works out to about 92 square feet. That calculation is a comparison, not a manufacturer-certified room rating; taller ceilings, open doorways and where the unit sits change the air volume being treated.

That scale is a better guide than a sales-page headline. If your essential room requirement is a verified 140-square-foot-or-larger area at 4.8 ACH, the X1+ does not meet it on the available figures. Consider stepping to the X3 or a larger purifier with a CADR and area basis that fit your room. Conversely, someone who wants a dedicated compact unit and can place it near a desk or bed may value its small footprint more than a whole-floor claim.

Controls and air-quality readout

The page describes four manual fan speeds and a Smart mode that adjusts automatically, plus Sleep mode. It says the built-in sensor tracks AQI on the screen and a side indicator changes color with air conditions. AQI is not the same thing as a separately verified numerical PM2.5 concentration. If a numeric particle reading on the purifier itself is essential, the page does not settle that requirement. The published material also does not establish that the exact U.S. offer has app control, so an app-only shopper should not assume that feature from the screen or indicator.

Airdog lists the X1+ at 9.4 pounds and 12 by 14 by 5 inches, but the listing does not label those three dimensions by orientation. The offer record ties the product to a single variant and barcode 192556000785; it has no SKU. I would use the exact X1+ name and barcode when checking a seller listing rather than accepting a vaguely similar X-series purifier. The manufacturer page and offer feed disagree about immediate availability, so check the live seller page rather than relying on a saved stock flag.

Reusable parts still need regular care

The attraction of the TPA system is that the collection plates are washable rather than a conventional disposable HEPA cassette. Airdog says a typical household should clean the collecting parts every three to six months, and more often in homes with pets, indoor smoke or heavy dust. Its product explanation distinguishes the washable pre-filter and plates from the charged wire frame, which must be cleaned dry; follow the model’s posted instructions and let washed parts dry fully before reinstalling them. This swaps repeated replacement-filter purchases for a recurring hands-on cleaning job. Someone who will ignore maintenance is unlikely to get the intended airflow reliably.

The X1+ page does not provide a model-specific manual in the archived download index, nor enough evidence to fill in a rated power, maximum noise, body orientation for dimensions, or separate PM2.5 reading. Those are real shopping unknowns, not values to borrow from the X3 or X5. The same is true of exact cleaning intervals outside the manufacturer’s general X1+ guidance.

Bottom line

Choose the X1+ when your priority is a relatively light, compact purifier with local settings, sensor-driven Smart mode, Sleep mode and reusable collecting plates for a small, well-defined space. Choose the X3 when you need more published airflow and a motion-sensing night light; move to a still larger model when the room needs more CADR. Before buying, decide whether you can live with regular washing, whether the calculated room area is enough for your own ceiling height, and whether unknown app or PM2.5 details are essential. The review is based on Airdog’s U.S. product page and offer record, not independent performance testing.
