A useful fit for

An enclosed room up to Blueair’s published 175-ft²-at-4.8-ACH rating where you will use purified-air heating or fan cooling and have safe floor space for the heater.

The main tradeoff

It is a substantial electrical heater/purifier combination, not a compact shelf purifier or air conditioner. Heat cannot be started in the app, does not have a separate 4.8-ACH rating, disables Night/Eco, and changes the numeric display from PM2.5 to heat target. The base filter and replacement are exact to T10i or T20i and non-washable; source life guidance ranges from six-to-nine months to up to a year.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is 175 square feet at Blueair’s 4.8-ACH benchmark enough for the room?

Blueair lists 175 ft² at 4.8 ACH. The page separately gives larger slower-cycle areas; those do not replace this repeated-cleaning figure.

Explore this need in the finder →
Must the appliance also provide electric heating while filtering air?

Yes. The exact model has a dedicated heating mode, though no 4.8-ACH room area is published specifically for heat mode.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the app activate or set the heater temperature?

No. The exact manual and support FAQ say heating cannot be activated in the app and its target is set at the device.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can it use particle Auto and Night together with heat?

No. In heating mode Auto works toward the temperature setpoint, not sensor-driven particle speed; Night and Eco are unavailable.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you require a numeric PM2.5 reading on the display while heating?

The manual says the numeric display switches to the heating target temperature in heating mode; PM2.5 appears in boosted purification.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you need a published 4.8-ACH room area specifically for the heater-on operating mode?

That value is not published for the T10i or T20i; their general purifier rating should not be counted as a heater-specific repeated-cleaning claim.

The ComfortPure 3-in-1 T10i combines particle filtration, fan cooling and electric heat in one floor-standing appliance. Blueair lists it for 175 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour: just above this finder’s compact-room threshold, not the 219-square-foot small-room tier. That rate-specific figure is more useful than the much larger one-change claims on the same page.

Choose it for the combination, not just the room rating

In boosted purification mode, filtered air moves upward. Cooling is fan-driven, not refrigerated like air conditioning; heating sends warm, purified air through a separate outlet. Blueair calls the three-outlet arrangement TripleFlow. The manual confirms filtration in each mode but gives no separate heated-mode 4.8-ACH room rating. Do not treat the standard rating as proof of the same airflow while heat runs.

The specification gives separate CADRs of 132 CFM for pollen, 129 for dust and 113 for smoke; none is a universal CADR. Blueair also lists 420 square feet in 30 minutes and 840 in an hour, slower-cycle claims that are not equivalent to the 175-square-foot-at-4.8-ACH recommendation. For an open-plan or tall room, use the rate-labelled figure rather than the one-change headline.

Its compact-room label hides a substantial floor unit

At 19.8 inches high and 10.3 inches wide and deep, the T10i is much larger than a tabletop purifier. It weighs 13.8 pounds and lists 21 watts. The manual shows a handle at the rear of the T10i and says to lift it straight up after unplugging and letting it cool; it is not a wheeled unit to roll between rooms. Its body measurements do not include the space needed for airflow. Blueair recommends at least four inches from nearby objects, closed doors and windows during purification, and placement where the inlet and outlets remain clear.

Heating adds more consequential placement rules than the room rating alone suggests. The manufacturer manual says this heater should be used on the floor, plugged directly into a grounded wall outlet rather than an extension cord or power strip, with combustible items at least three feet away. It shuts off its heat function after 24 hours and must cool to room temperature before heating again. Those conditions can make a tight bedroom corner or a nursery shelf unsuitable even if the 10.3-inch body appears to fit. A low appliance temperature or covered heating outlet can also trigger safety behavior; this is not a compact plug-in space heater to tuck beside bedding.

Controls and readings change with the mode

Physical controls, a remote and the Blueair app are available. First setup uses Bluetooth and a 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi connection. In boosted purification mode, the on-unit number display can show PM2.5; in cooling mode it shows room temperature; and in heating mode it shows the target temperature. A separate five-color AQI light gives qualitative particle status. The sensor is for PM2.5, not a TVOC or gas reading.

Do not read “app-connected” as “every mode is app-controlled.” The manual says the heater cannot be activated through the app; heating is selected and its target set at the unit. Auto also changes by mode: purification Auto adjusts fan speed from PM2.5, while heat Auto works toward the temperature target. Night and Eco are unavailable during heating. The T10i therefore does not fit a need for app-started heat, particle Auto during heat, or Night mode with heat.

Plan for a non-washable main filter

The U.S. offer lists one purifier and one Particle + Carbon filter. The manual describes a washable pre-filter and a separate cartridge in a reusable frame. Vacuum the pre-filter weekly with a soft brush; the main filter cannot be washed or reused. For replacement, switch off, unplug and cool the heater, keep the frame, unwrap the new cartridge, reassemble and hold manual fan adjustment for 15 seconds to reset the red alert. Monthly, clean the sensor inlet gently with a soft brush and cotton swab; do not put objects into its opening.

Filter life is not a fixed promise. The purifier page says up to one year, but the exact replacement-filter page says up to nine months and Blueair’s 3-in-1 support page gives a six-to-nine-month recommendation. Follow the indicator and actual conditions rather than setting an automatic annual replacement. The official replacement is sized specifically for T10i; do not substitute the larger T20i cartridge. Its particle-and-carbon layer is described for particles and light household odors. The sources reviewed here do not establish a dedicated smoke or pet specialty cartridge for this exact configuration.

Who should choose it—and who should look elsewhere

Choose the T10i for an enclosed room within its 175-square-foot repeated-cleaning rating if you will use fan cooling or supplemental heat and can meet the heater’s floor, outlet and clearance rules. The T20i is the larger, taller, heavier alternative when its additional published capacity matters. If you need filtration without heat or fan cooling, compare the dedicated Blueair 311i Max, which has a larger repeated-cleaning rating without heater-placement rules. Neither purifier replaces ventilation or guarantees a health outcome.
