Blueair ComfortPure 3-in-1 T20i review

A 352-ft²-at-4.8-ACH purifier rating with separate purified-air heating and fan-driven cooling modes; sensor, display and controls change by mode, and the heater imposes floor-placement and clearance rules.

A useful fit for

An enclosed room up to Blueair’s published 352-ft²-at-4.8-ACH rating where you will use purified-air heating or fan cooling and have safe floor space for the heater.

The main tradeoff

It is a substantial electrical heater/purifier combination, not a compact shelf purifier or air conditioner. Heat cannot be started in the app, does not have a separate 4.8-ACH rating, disables Night/Eco, and changes the numeric display from PM2.5 to heat target. The base filter and replacement are exact to T10i or T20i and non-washable; source life guidance ranges from six-to-nine months to up to a year.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is 352 square feet at Blueair’s 4.8-ACH benchmark enough for the room?

Blueair lists 352 ft² at 4.8 ACH. The page separately gives larger slower-cycle areas; those do not replace this repeated-cleaning figure.

Must the appliance also provide electric heating while filtering air?

Yes. The exact model has a dedicated heating mode, though no 4.8-ACH room area is published specifically for heat mode.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the app activate or set the heater temperature?

No. The exact manual and support FAQ say heating cannot be activated in the app and its target is set at the device.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can it use particle Auto and Night together with heat?

No. In heating mode Auto works toward the temperature setpoint, not sensor-driven particle speed; Night and Eco are unavailable.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you require a numeric PM2.5 reading on the display while heating?

The manual says the numeric display switches to the heating target temperature in heating mode; PM2.5 appears in boosted purification.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you need a published 4.8-ACH room area specifically for the heater-on operating mode?

That value is not published for the T10i or T20i; their general purifier rating should not be counted as a heater-specific repeated-cleaning claim.

The ComfortPure 3-in-1 T20i is Blueair’s larger purifier-heater-fan combination. The manufacturer lists 352 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour, so it clears the finder’s 219-square-foot small-room threshold but falls just short of the 358-square-foot medium tier. It also provides three modes—air purification, fan cooling and electric heat—so the useful comparison is not only “how much room?” but whether you will actually use all three functions and can place the heater safely.

A meaningful step up from the T10i

Blueair’s T20i specification lists a 252-CFM pollen CADR, 238 CFM for dust and 227 CFM for smoke. The page also says 845 square feet in 30 minutes and 1,690 in an hour, slower-cycle claims that should not be read as the same repeated-air-change capacity as its 352-square-foot 4.8-ACH recommendation. These are manufacturer figures, not measurements from this review. The T10i is listed for 175 square feet at the same 4.8-ACH basis; it is therefore the smaller-family alternative, not a different setting or replacement filter for the T20i.

The T20i is 27.4 inches high and 13.6 inches wide and deep, weighs 26.9 pounds and lists 36 watts. Its manual shows pull-out side handles and a remote holder supplied only with this model. Wheels are not documented, so the weight matters when moving it. Leave at least four inches around air openings and do not block the top or front outlets; the room rating does not mean it can sit in a bookcase or against a curtain.

Fan cooling is not air conditioning

The 3-in-1 design has dedicated outlets for purification, cooling and heat. Cooling moves filtered air at room temperature; it does not remove heat or set a cooling temperature like air conditioning. Heating mode provides warm purified air and uses a target-temperature setting at the control panel. Blueair says that the outgoing air is purified in all three modes, but its page does not give a separate 4.8-ACH room rating specifically for the heater mode. If that exact simultaneous heat-and-purification rating matters to your choice, do not assume the general room-area table proves it.

Heating requires floor placement, a direct grounded wall outlet, no extension cord or power strip, and three feet between the heater and combustible objects. Heat stops automatically after 24 hours; let the appliance cool before cleaning or moving it. The large body plus clearance can rule out a cramped bedside spot despite the 352-square-foot rating. T10i follows similar safety rules but takes less floor area; a conventional purifier is simpler if supplemental heat is not a real need.

Useful local display, with important app limits

The unit can be operated from the top control panel, included remote or Blueair app. App pairing uses Bluetooth during setup and 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi. A numeric screen does not show every value at once: in boosted purification it displays PM2.5, in cooling it displays room temperature, and in heating it displays the target heat temperature. A separate five-color AQI indicator presents a qualitative particle status. The sensor is described as measuring PM2.5; neither the display nor its carbon layer should be treated as a TVOC or gas monitor.

App connection is not equivalent to app control of the heater. Blueair’s manual and support FAQ say heat mode cannot be activated in the app; the heating button and target-temperature adjustment are at the unit. In purification mode, Auto responds to particulate levels. In heating mode, Auto works toward the temperature target instead. Night and Eco modes are not available with heat enabled. Those are material interaction limits for someone seeking one phone-controlled all-season routine. Select the T20i for its combination of modes, but do not assume a single automatic setting handles both room-air and comfort-temperature goals.

Filter maintenance uses a model-specific cartridge

The offer lists one purifier and one Particle + Carbon filter. The manual shows a washable pre-filter, reusable frame and replaceable main cartridge. Vacuum the pre-filter weekly with a soft brush; do not wash the main filter. For replacement, unplug and cool the unit, keep the frame, fit the unwrapped cartridge, reassemble and hold manual fan adjustment for 15 seconds to reset the alert. Clean the sensor inlet monthly with a soft brush and cotton swab; do not insert objects into its opening.

Filter guidance differs by source: the T20i purifier-page FAQ says the filter may last up to a year, while the T20i-specific replacement-filter page states up to nine months, and the 3-in-1 support page recommends six to nine months. The filter-life tracker is based on use and pollution; treat the status indicator and local conditions as the trigger, not the longest marketing interval as a guarantee. T20i has its own larger compatible Particle + Carbon replacement. The T10i replacement is separately identified and is not an interchangeable alternative. The reviewed U.S. filter page describes light household odor capture but does not document a specialized smoke or pet filter profile for this model.

Who should choose T20i

Choose the T20i when the room needs its 352-square-foot repeated-cleaning rating, you will use its heat or fan functions, and floor space allows the nearly 27-inch unit plus heater clearance. T10i suits a smaller 175-square-foot space and is easier to lift. If filtration matters but heat and fan cooling do not, compare Blueair’s dedicated 311i+ Max; it avoids heater-placement rules but does not provide warm air. For actual cooling, choose an air conditioner rather than expecting fan mode to lower room temperature.
