Blueair Sleep Athlete Bundle Large review

A two-device room set: one Blue Signature Large SP4i listed at 705 ft² at 4.8 ACH and one Mini Restful SC9i sunrise-clock purifier listed at 140 ft² at 4.8 ACH. Use them in separate rooms; the figures are not a combined room rating. The Mini alarm requires app setup.

A useful fit for

A two-room home where a main room is no larger than Blueair’s 705-square-foot 4.8-ACH figure for the included Signature Large and a separate bedroom or personal room is no larger than 140 square feet for the Mini Restful. The second device also supplies a sunrise alarm, but requires app setup.

The main tradeoff

This is one 705-ft²-rated purifier plus a separate 140-ft²-rated purifier-clock, not a single 845-ft² purifier. The Mini alarm requires the app and 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi setup. The package page lists two main filters but does not clearly total both textile pre-filters; exact noise weighting, a combined room rating, and aggregate package dimensions/power are not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the main room fit the Signature component’s 705-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating, with a separate bedroom for the Mini Restful?

The room areas belong to separate devices; the package has no combined single-room rating.

Do you need the bundled purifier to include a sunrise alarm clock, and can you use app setup?

The Mini Restful supplies the sunrise/sound clock, and its alarm setup requires the Blueair app.

Explore this need in the finder →
Must the bedroom clock-purifier itself show PM2.5 and use particle Auto?

No—the Mini Restful is not the sensor-display unit. The Signature component has particle Auto and local PM2.5 feedback, but the Mini Restful does not.

Is a strict dB(A) sound limit essential for the bedroom?

Neither component’s cited plain-dB figures establish A-weighting, and the Mini Restful page conflicts on its low endpoint.

Can one generic replacement cartridge cover both units?

No. The Signature and Mini Restful use distinct size/model-specific replacement filters.

Blueair’s Sleep Athlete Bundle Large pairs two different machines: one Blue Signature Large air purifier and one Mini Restful purifier that doubles as a sunrise alarm clock. It makes most sense as a two-room set—a main living area for the Signature and a bedroom for the clock purifier—not as one oversized purifier with a combined room rating. The offer is an exact bundle in Blueair’s U.S. collection, but its two component models keep their own capacities, controls and filter routines.

Assign each purifier to a different job

Blueair lists the Blue Signature Large at 705 square feet for 4.8 air changes per hour. That is the useful repeated-cleaning benchmark for its larger room. The page’s separate “up to 3,385 square feet in one hour” claim is a slower cleaning basis, not a replacement for the 705-square-foot figure. The included Mini Restful is rated for 140 square feet at 4.8 ACH. Use it in a separate personal room or bedroom of that size or smaller. The two numbers are not additive: putting both machines in one open room does not create a manufacturer-rated 845-square-foot setup, and the company publishes no combined 4.8-ACH rating for this pair.

The bundle is therefore less compelling if you only need one large-room machine. In a two-room home, the division can be practical: keep the larger unit in a living space and the clock purifier by the bed. Blueair describes the Mini Restful’s own one-hour area separately; use its 140-square-foot repeated-cleaning rating when sizing that bedroom. The Medium Sleep Athlete bundle is the smaller-room alternative: its Signature component is rated at 498 square feet at 4.8 ACH, while the Mini Restful remains 140 square feet. Neither version changes the Mini’s per-unit room limit.

One connected routine, two different control panels

The Signature Large offers local fan, Auto and Night controls, plus a numeric PM2.5 reading and a particle-based Auto response. The Mini Restful adds a motion-activated display, local purifier buttons, a wake light and an alarm clock. It does not have the Signature’s particle display or dedicated Night mode. Blueair says the Mini Restful app is required to create and personalize its sunrise and sound alarms; the manuals also describe 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth during first-time pairing. The Signature app has its own connected functions. If you need a phone-free bedside clock setup or a purifier package with no app-dependent features, this is the wrong pair even though each unit has physical controls for ordinary purifier use.

The particle reading on the Signature is not a chemical or TVOC measurement. Its published filtration and odor claims are manufacturer statements rather than an independent test result. The Mini Restful’s clock display likewise is not an air-quality sensor. Requiring a numeric reading or Auto mode can be met by assigning the Signature Large to that room; do not assume the Mini Restful supplies the same feedback.

Check sound and placement before choosing a sleep bundle

Both machines need open airflow around them. The Signature Large body is 15.5 inches across and 17.2 inches tall; the Mini Restful is 6.7 inches across and 11.1 inches tall. Their manuals call for at least four inches of clearance from nearby objects. Those are two separate footprints, not a single combined dimension, and a nightstand still needs room around the Mini Restful’s intake and outlet.

The sound figures deserve similar care. Blueair lists 23–55 dB for the Signature Large and 21–48 dB for the Mini Restful’s technical table, while other Mini Restful page copy claims 18 dB on low. The Mini’s sources do not reconcile those endpoints, and neither model’s cited figures establish A-weighting. These are not independent acoustic measurements; do not buy the set to satisfy a strict dB(A) bedroom ceiling. The large unit’s Night mode also does not make the Mini Restful a dedicated Night-mode purifier.

Two filter families, not a shared cartridge

The offer’s one-time contents list describes one Blue Signature purifier, one pre-filter and one filter, plus one Mini Restful purifier-clock and one filter. It does not clearly state the total number of textile pre-filters across both component models. Treat that exact count as unresolved rather than assuming a spare. The main cartridges are model-specific: the Signature Large replacement differs from the Mini Restful cartridge. Blueair’s manuals recommend watching the replacement indicators and give model-specific timing guidance; a filter subscription is an optional supply arrangement, not a promise that the supplied cartridges last a fixed number of months.

Unplug before maintenance. The Signature’s textile pre-filter can be cleaned as its label directs, and its main cartridge is replaced rather than washed. The Mini Restful’s textile sleeve and cartridge follow its separate care instructions. With two machines, you maintain two air paths and should keep the correct replacement filter for each on hand. The image above is Blueair’s promotional manufacturer render showing both product forms; its Knicks badge is artwork, not an included purifier feature or evidence of a tested sample.

Who should buy this combination?

Consider it when you have a main room that fits within 705 square feet at 4.8 ACH and a separate bedroom at or below 140 square feet, and the added sunrise alarm is genuinely useful. It is a poor match for a single-room plan, an app-free setup, a bedroom that needs the Mini Restful itself to provide particle feedback or Night mode, or a hard dB(A) requirement. Choose the Medium bundle if its 498-square-foot Signature unit fits the main room; choose a standalone large purifier if the clock and second device would sit unused. The package is a combination of two separate products, not a new purifier model with a blended capacity.
