Blueair Sleep Athlete Bundle Medium review

A two-device room set: one Blue Signature Medium SP3i listed at 498 ft² at 4.8 ACH and one Mini Restful SC9i sunrise-clock purifier listed at 140 ft² at 4.8 ACH. Use them in separate rooms; the figures are not a combined room rating. The Mini alarm requires app setup.

A useful fit for

A two-room home where a main room is no larger than Blueair’s 498-square-foot 4.8-ACH figure for the included Signature Medium and a separate bedroom or personal room is no larger than 140 square feet for the Mini Restful. The second device also supplies a sunrise alarm, but requires app setup.

The main tradeoff

This is one 498-ft²-rated purifier plus a separate 140-ft²-rated purifier-clock, not a single 638-ft² purifier. It does not meet the finder’s large-room 606-ft² threshold. The Mini alarm requires the app and 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi setup. The package page lists two main filters but does not clearly total both textile pre-filters; exact noise weighting, a combined room rating, and aggregate package dimensions/power are not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the main room fit the Signature component’s 498-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating, with a separate bedroom for the Mini Restful?

The room areas belong to separate devices; the package has no combined single-room rating.

Do you need the bundled purifier to include a sunrise alarm clock, and can you use app setup?

The Mini Restful supplies the sunrise/sound clock, and its alarm setup requires the Blueair app.

Explore this need in the finder →
Must the bedroom clock-purifier itself show PM2.5 and use particle Auto?

No—the Mini Restful is not the sensor-display unit. The Signature component has particle Auto and local PM2.5 feedback, but the Mini Restful does not.

Is a strict dB(A) sound limit essential for the bedroom?

Neither component’s cited plain-dB figures establish A-weighting, and the Mini Restful page conflicts on its low endpoint.

Can one generic replacement cartridge cover both units?

No. The Signature and Mini Restful use distinct size/model-specific replacement filters.

The Sleep Athlete Bundle Medium is not a medium-sized purifier with an alarm built into the same chassis. Blueair’s exact U.S. offer combines a Blue Signature Medium SP3i with a Mini Restful SC9i purifier and sunrise clock. The useful way to judge it is to place the SP3i in a medium main room and the smaller Mini Restful in a separate bedroom. If you need one purifier for a large open plan, this package does not gain capacity by containing two machines.

Use the Signature Medium rating for the main room

Blueair lists the SP3i at 498 square feet for 4.8 air changes per hour. That meets the finder’s medium-room tier but not its 606-square-foot large-room threshold. The page’s separate 2,250-square-foot “in one hour” figure uses a different cleaning basis; it should not replace the 498-square-foot repeated-cleaning number. The Mini Restful is individually rated at 140 square feet at 4.8 ACH. Place it in a separate bedroom or personal room up to that size. Do not add 498 and 140 to size one open room; the manufacturer has not published that combined rating.

This pairing is most useful when those two room jobs both matter. If the main room needs more than 498 square feet at the same rate, compare the Sleep Athlete Bundle Large, whose Signature unit is listed for 705 square feet. If you only need to clean the bedroom, a standalone compact purifier may avoid paying for an unused second device. In either bundle, the Mini Restful remains the same small-room purifier-clock rather than gaining the larger unit’s air-cleaning capacity.

The alarm is app-dependent; routine purifier controls are local

The Mini Restful is the feature that separates this package from a pair of standard purifiers. It offers a sunrise wake light and sound alarm alongside air cleaning, and its local buttons still operate purifier functions. Blueair’s exact support and manual say the app is required to create and personalize the alarm. First setup uses Bluetooth and 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi. The Signature Medium also supports Blueair app functions and has physical controls, so the package is connected rather than a manual-only purchase.

Do not transfer the Medium unit’s feedback features to the clock purifier. The SP3i has particle sensing, a numeric PM2.5 display, and sensor-based Auto. The Mini Restful uses its display for clock functions, not a PM reading, and it does not document sensor Auto or a dedicated Night mode. A combined plan can use the SP3i’s Auto in the living room and the Mini Restful’s alarm by the bed, but someone who needs particle feedback from the bedside unit should choose a different configuration. A PM reading on the larger purifier also does not establish that the household has a TVOC or gas measurement.

Make room for two distinct shapes

The SP3i has a 11.7-inch-wide body and stands 19.3 inches tall; the Mini Restful is a much smaller 6.7 by 6.7 by 11.1-inch cylinder. These dimensions describe the separate machines, not a single bundle footprint. Blueair’s manuals call for at least four inches of clearance around the units. Avoid squeezing the bedside Mini into a shelf or corner just because its body is compact. The display can be dimmed, but that should not be confused with a dedicated purifier Night mode.

Sound is another reason not to decide from a marketing phrase alone. The Signature Medium page lists 19–54 dB without stating A-weighting. The Mini Restful’s technical table lists 21–48 dB, while its FAQ separately claims 18 dB on low. Those sources do not establish a strict dB(A) maximum or provide an independent measurement. If you have a hard bedroom noise limit, the bundle cannot verify it from the published numbers.

Filter each purifier by its own identity

The bundle page lists a main filter for each purifier and a pre-filter in the one-time package list, but does not spell out the complete textile pre-filter count across both models. Preserve that detail when ordering rather than treating an image or subscription offer as an itemized packing slip. The SP3i uses its Blue Signature Medium replacement cartridge; the Mini Restful takes its separate Mini Restful cartridge. They are not interchangeable. The included main filters are not a lifetime supply.

Follow each manual’s filter indicator and model-specific care instructions. Blueair says the Signature Medium uses a washable fabric pre-filter and a replaceable main cartridge. The Mini Restful has a washable textile cover around its own nonwashable particle-and-carbon cartridge; it also has a separate filter alert and reset routine. Unplug each unit before moving or servicing it. A subscription can send future replacements, but does not change what the bundle contains or establish a fixed universal interval.

Where this pair fits—and where it does not

Choose the Medium version if your main room fits the 498-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating, you also want a separate purifier in a bedroom no larger than 140 square feet, and you will use the connected alarm setup. It combines a larger-room particle-feedback unit with a compact wake-up device, not two identical purifiers. Pass if app-free use, a one-device setup, bedside PM2.5 feedback, a 606-square-foot main-room rating, or a guaranteed dB(A) ceiling is essential. The manufacturer’s image is a promotional render of the Nordic Fog Signature Medium with a light Mini Restful; the Knicks badge is campaign artwork, not a supplied accessory or performance claim.
