Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the HHC manual meet a compact-room 4.8-ACH requirement, and can I use its larger page-area claim instead?
The HHC manual specifies 347 ft² at 4.8 ACH, which clears a 140-ft² compact requirement but not a 358-ft² medium threshold. The product page separately says 361 ft² without a rate basis, so that higher number is not used for a hard 4.8-ACH pass.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I set an 800-ft² minimum at the manual's 2-ACH pace without using its 1-ACH headline?
Yes. The exact HHC manual gives 840 ft² at two air changes per hour, while 1,680 ft² is the separate one-change-per-hour figure.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I have local sensor-driven Auto and manual speed control without requiring an app?
Yes. HHC's manual documents Auto based on the particle/dust sensor, numbered speeds 1–3, Eco, a timer, and a control-panel lock on the unit. It does not document a model-specific phone app or Wi-Fi procedure.
Explore this need in the finder →What if a switchable ionizer is optional, then becomes an essential condition?
The HHC manual does not confirm an ionizer or an on/off switch. It may be shortlisted when no such control is required, but unknown documentation does not satisfy the switchable-ionizer hard limit; the distinct AP-1512HH manual does document that control.
Explore this need in the finder →Coway sells the beige Airmega Mighty as the AP-1512HHC; its linked U.S. manual names it “Airmega MightyC.” This is separate from the White/Black AP-1512HH, and the two manuals do not document the same controls. Some embedded metadata and the linked marketing sheet use the AP-1512HH label without the “C,” but the beige offer record and directly linked HHC manual identify this configuration as HHC. Check the code on the exact offer or package rather than relying on a shortened title. The Beige has one current manufacturer offer, SKU 826439000806. Use this review for HHC, not the AP-1512HHS.

Keep the room rating tied to its air-change rate
The HHC manual gives three figures for an assumed eight-foot ceiling: 347 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour, 840 at two, and 1,680 at one. It defines one change every 12.5 minutes as 4.8 ACH; these are not interchangeable room ratings. The product page separately says “up to 361 square feet,” without an ACH basis. For fast turnover, use the model-specific manual’s 347-square-foot 4.8-ACH figure, not the unqualified 361 number or the one-change headline. Coway lists smoke, dust, and pollen CADR separately (224, 248, and 232 CFM); these are manufacturer figures, not measurements made for this review. The linked product sheet names AP-1512HH rather than HHC, so it is not a substitute for the Beige manual.
What its local controls do—and do not confirm
This is direct-control, not phone-first. The manual describes sensor-led Auto, three numbered fan speeds, and Eco. Auto selects among speeds 1–3; Eco stops the fan after 30 minutes without detected pollution and resumes when pollution returns. The table calls airflow control “3 stages,” while the operating instructions treat Auto and Eco as additional modes. It also documents a 1-, 4-, or 8-hour off timer, a three-color air-quality indicator, and a control-panel lock. The color is not a numeric PM2.5 reading, and the HHC manual provides no model-specific app or Wi-Fi procedure.
Do not assume the HHC inherits every AP-1512HH feature because the cases look similar. The HH manual documents a separately switchable ionizer; HHC’s parts and controls do not document an ionizer or an on/off switch. That leaves HHC unconfirmed if a local ionizer switch is essential. Neither a marketing image nor the similarly named HH page fills that documentation gap.
Filter care is manageable but still scheduled
The manual describes a washable pre-filter, one deodorization-filter position, and a HEPA filter. Coway’s Beige listing says the box includes Fresh Starter and Intense Smoke carbon filters plus HEPA; its description says to use the carbon filters one at a time, each for six months, beside a one-year HEPA filter. They are alternate profiles, not a two-carbon stack. The manual recommends cleaning the pre-filter every two to four weeks, replacing deodorization media every six months and HEPA yearly. Its estimates assume eight hours a day at maximum speed and may vary by environment. Wash the pre-filter as directed and let it dry fully; the other filters are not washable or reusable.
Coway’s page mentions optional Pet, Allergen, and Smoke profiles, but does not link an exact replacement SKU from the HHC listing. Confirm that any required filter package names AP-1512HHC; the AP-1512HH/200M accessory page alone does not prove compatibility. Carbon is not a gas sensor, and the manual documents a particle/dust sensor, not a separate gas or TVOC sensor.
Measure the placement, not just the cabinet
The body is 16.8 inches wide, 18.3 high, and 9.6 deep; listed weight is 12.3 pounds. Coway calls for at least 20 cm from walls or nearby objects, 30–60 cm above, open airflow, and at least 2 m from electronics such as a television. The manual also schedules sensor/intake/outlet cleaning about every two months and body wiping every two to four weeks. It is for indoor household use on a grounded 120 V, 60 Hz outlet. Required clearance may matter more than cabinet footprint in a crowded room.
Who should shortlist the Beige
The AP-1512HHC is worth considering if you want the beige finish, physical buttons, particle-responsive Auto, Eco shutoff, and two carbon profiles in the box. Its manual-backed 840-square-foot 2-ACH figure can answer that slower-rate requirement, but it is not the 347-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating. A 140-square-foot 4.8-ACH need is supported; a 358-square-foot medium tier is not. The finder does not turn the page’s unqualified 361-square-foot text into a hard pass.
Compare it with AP-1512HH if a documented ionizer switch or the HH manual’s 361-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating matters. The Airmega 150 is shallower and rated 214 square feet at 4.8 ACH; Airmega 100 is smaller and cylindrical, with its own filter plan. Neither is a like-for-like beige Mighty. If a numeric PM2.5 figure, app control, ionizer switch, or confirmed medium-room 4.8-ACH rating is essential, HHC’s documentation does not establish that fit. These are manual/specification comparisons, not hands-on noise, room, or pollutant tests. See Coway’s AP-1512HHC product page and its U.S. manual.

| Manufacturer filter-check/replacement guidance | Exact HHC manual: clean the reusable pre-filter every 2–4 weeks; replace deodorization media every 6 months and HEPA every 1 year. The manual bases service life on 8 hours/day at maximum speed and warns that the environment can change cycles. The pre-filter may be vacuumed or washed and must be fully dry; carbon and HEPA filters are not reusable. |
| Important specification note | The manual's 347-ft² 4.8-ACH value is used over the exact page's unqualified 361-ft² prose, since the page does not state an ACH basis for 361. Keep the 840-ft²/2-ACH and 1,680-ft²/1-ACH values separate. No generic CADR is asserted. |
| Placement and care | Clean the washable pre-filter every 2–4 weeks; replace the installed carbon profile at about 6 months and the HEPA filter at about 1 year under the manual's 8-hour/day, maximum-speed reference conditions. The product listing includes alternate carbon profiles; confirm exact replacement SKU compatibility before reordering. |
