A useful fit for

App-connected 10-speed console for a medium room where local controls and remote air-quality monitoring are useful. Guardian claims 348 sq ft every 12.5 minutes.

The main tradeoff

Wi-Fi requires 2.4 GHz. UV-C installation/switchability and maximum noise are unknown; do not select it for a UV-C-essential need.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you need app operation as well as local touch control?

AP3250 documents both; setup requires 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi, not 5-GHz-only Wi-Fi.

Does its 348-sq-ft 4.8-ACH comparison clear the medium tier?

No: the medium tier starts at 358 sq ft. Its direct 348 figure falls below that threshold; the compact tier is the reliable match.

Can you require a controllable UV-C stage?

No; the exact product copy conflicts with the collection title about UV-C. Unknown does not meet an essential condition.

Guardian Technologies’ product-page image of the white/gray AP3250. The manufacturer does not say whether it is a photograph or a render. Exact AP3250 page.

The GermGuardian AP3250 is the app-connected, 10-speed console in the company’s current medium-room range. Its strongest useful specification is unusually clear: Guardian says it circulates the air in a 348-square-foot room every 12.5 minutes, and separately gives a 1-air-change-per-hour figure of 1,600-plus square feet. Those rates describe very different cleaning cadences. If you care about repeated circulation, use the 348-square-foot, roughly 4.8-ACH comparison—not the large one-hour headline. The latter does not mean the same room gets five air changes per hour.

App convenience, with a real network limitation

The AP3250 has ten speed settings, a touch control panel and Guardian’s Aria for Home app. The manufacturer says the app can control the purifier, show air-quality information, send filter notices and help order replacement parts. The source describes a sensor watching air quality 60 times a minute and automatically adjusting output when it detects poorer conditions. It is a better fit than a manual-only purifier for someone who will use those controls, but the app is not a prerequisite: the unit has local touch controls too. Guardian’s setup instructions specify a 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi network; a 5-GHz-only network is a practical setup blocker, not a detail to discover after purchase.

Do not read “smart” as proof of a numeric PM2.5 display or a particular sensor class. The product page describes monitoring and a seven-segment display, but the exact supporting manual was not found in the manufacturer’s saved instruction directory during this research. I therefore leave the precise sensor target, on-unit PM2.5 readout and some control details unconfirmed. The page says the lowest of ten speeds is an ultra-quiet setting and reports 22 dBA there. It does not establish a maximum noise figure in the material reviewed here, so a quiet minimum is not a full noise range.

Filter stack and the UV-C wording conflict

The exact page identifies a 360-degree HEPA PURE filter, advertised to capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns, plus a washable fabric pre-filter; the product copy describes three layers and a six-month filter interval. Filter O (including FLT5100 variants) and the FAB3250B fabric pre-filter are identified as compatible replacements. These manufacturer descriptions make the AP3250 a more substantial particle-filtration choice than a wall-plug sanitizer, but the claim is not an independent test and the replacement interval depends on use and room conditions.

There is a meaningful identity-quality caveat around UV-C and stage count. The exact page title and body call the system three-stage, while a collection-card title calls it four-stage with UV-C. The exact page’s compatibility list names an LB1000 UV-C bulb, but compatibility alone does not confirm that a bulb is supplied, that the light is fitted on this exact AP3250 configuration or that it can be switched separately. I do not count UV-C as a confirmed feature or recommend the model for a required controllable UV-C stage. That keeps the matcher honest while the product identity itself remains verified.

Where it fits—and what changes the shortlist

At about 20.5 inches high, 10.25 inches wide and deep, and 15 pounds, this is a floor-standing console rather than a small desktop unit. Its rated room basis makes sense for a bedroom, office or medium shared space where the app and finer speed adjustment matter. If your room needs at least a 358-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating, the AP3250’s 348-square-foot number falls short even though its one-hour claim is much larger. If a large open area is the priority, compare the much larger AP6100, whose 4.8-ACH figure is 837 square feet but whose heavy wheeled body is a different kind of appliance.

The CDAP5500 is a narrower tower alternative when a separate UV-C control and an eight-hour shutoff timer matter more than app certainty; its room rating is only 171 square feet at 4.8 ACH. Choose the AP3250 for its documented smart controls and medium-room repeated-air-change figure, not for an unverified UV stage or for a large space based on the 1-ACH headline. It is not the right choice if your essential condition is confirmed numeric particle sensing, a verified UV-C switch, or an exact larger-than-348-square-foot rating at the faster comparison rate.
