A useful fit for

A medium-room choice for a buyer who wants both local and Wi-Fi/app control, sensor-driven particle Auto, numeric fine-dust feedback and a manufacturer-confirmed all-in-one replacement. The current 4.8-ACH listing is 418 sq ft; it is not a large-room 4.8-ACH purifier.

The main tradeoff

It needs open placement around the cylindrical intake, and the filter must be replaced rather than washed. The older T810 manual disagrees with the current 418-sq-ft area by listing 410; the listing/manual CADR values omit a unit, maximum noise is unknown, and there is no separate odor/gas sensor or specialized carbon profile documented.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do I need a medium-size room purifier with app access and an on-unit fine-dust number?

The current T810 listing gives 418 square feet at 4.8 ACH. The exact page lists Wi-Fi/app control, while the manual documents a numeric fine-dust display down to PM2.5. This suits a medium room when those features are useful, but not a large 606-square-foot 4.8-ACH requirement.

Will the T810 meet a 606-square-foot large-room requirement at 4.8 ACH?

No. The current listing states 418 square feet at that benchmark; its larger room/time examples are slower passes and do not establish 606 square feet at 4.8 ACH.

Is the T810 manual-only with no app functions?

No. It has physical buttons, but Winix also documents Wi-Fi and Smart App control, so a strict no-app requirement is not met.

Does T810 Auto respond to particles or gases?

Winix describes a fine-dust sensor and PM2.5 display, supporting particle-responsive Auto. A separate odor/gas or TVOC sensor is not documented.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is Filter R a confirmed T810 replacement, and is it a specialized smoke/pet profile?

Winix explicitly lists Filter R 1712-0118-00 for T810 and describes its general activated-carbon odor stage. It does not document a separate SmokeGuard, PetGuard or premium replacement profile for this model.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the T810 satisfy a strict published maximum-noise or CFM CADR limit?

No. Winix lists a 23.8 dB minimum but no maximum noise, and the CADR table values do not state a unit. Unknown maximum noise and unknown CFM cannot meet an essential cap or minimum.

The T810 combines a cylindrical 360-degree intake, a replaceable all-in-one filter, Wi-Fi and an on-unit numeric fine-dust display. Its strongest case is a medium room where those controls and feedback are welcome; it is not the right answer when a large-room 4.8-ACH rating, a documented maximum noise ceiling, or CFM-numbered CADR is essential.

The room-size number that matters

Winix currently lists the T810 for 418 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour, the useful comparison point for someone who expects repeated cleaning rather than a one-time slow pass. That clears a 358-square-foot medium-room requirement but falls short of the 606-square-foot large-room threshold. The page also gives larger area-and-time examples—up to 2,006 square feet in an hour—but those are not a substitute for the faster 4.8-ACH rating. Choose around the room the machine must actually serve.

There is a small but real documentation discrepancy worth keeping visible. The current product listing and newer T810/T830 manual state 418 square feet; an older T810-only manual gives 410. The current listing is the live specification, but a buyer whose room sits on the edge should recheck the documentation shipped with the unit rather than treating a few square feet as a guarantee. Winix's AHAM rating assumes an eight-foot ceiling.

A format built around one round filter

The T810 is a white, upright cylinder measuring 11.3 inches wide by 11.3 deep and 20.4 high. At 10.2 pounds it is fairly easy to move, though the manual still calls for a hard, level floor and roughly 12–18 inches of space from walls and nearby electronics. That clearance is part of the footprint in a real room. Air enters around the circumference and exits at the top, so it does not need to be aimed like a directional floor fan; leave room around the body instead of pushing it tight against furniture.

Winix describes four stages: a fine-mesh pre-filter, True HEPA media, activated carbon and PlasmaWave technology. The product page attributes its particle-capture claim to a cited laboratory report; that is the manufacturer's stated result, not a measurement made for this review or a promise of a medical outcome. The carbon layer is described as general household-odor reduction, not a special smoke or pet-odor formulation. That distinction matters if odor treatment is the main purchase reason.

What changes when you use the controls

App control is one of the T810's main differentiators from a local-control-only purifier. Winix lists Wi-Fi and its Smart App, with Alexa and Google Home support; the physical buttons still provide local fan and mode operation. The manual documents Auto plus Low, Medium, High and Turbo. In Auto, the fan speed changes with the room's sensed air quality. A numeric on-unit display reports fine-particle conditions down to PM2.5, while four colors provide a faster visual cue. Treat those numbers as feedback from the unit's sensor, not as a substitute for an independently calibrated monitor: Winix itself cautions that displayed pollution values can differ from official institutions and vary with where the product sits.

A light sensor can put Auto operation into Sleep mode when the room darkens. The display has adjustable brightness and can be turned off, useful in a bedroom. The minimum noise listed by Winix is 23.8 dB; a maximum or per-speed noise table is not published in the product specification, so a strict high-speed sound limit cannot be checked from that figure. Turbo is available when a faster response is more important than quiet. If you are sensitive to sound, the sensible plan is to use Sleep or a lower manual speed overnight and reserve Turbo for periods when the room is unoccupied.

Filter upkeep is straightforward, but not wash-and-forget

The exact replacement is Winix Filter R, part 1712-0118-00. Winix's compatibility page explicitly names both T810 and T830, and describes the replacement as a one-year all-in-one filter. The current linked manual says to clean the pre-filter about every 14 days with a vacuum or soft brush; it specifically says not to wash it. Filter life can shorten in a smoky or dusty room, and the replacement indicator is the practical reminder. Replacing the canister means turning the purifier upside down, unlocking the underside cover, removing the shipping vinyl from a new filter, inserting it and closing the cover. Reset the filter-life indicator after the change.

The page lists 45 watts of rated input, no timer, and a two-year warranty. It also prints dust, pollen and smoke CADR values, but the table does not show a unit beside those numbers, so this review does not label them CFM or use them to satisfy a CFM-specific requirement. A minimum-noise figure is not a maximum, and the older room-area manual remains a caveat for exact-boundary decisions.

Who should consider another model?

If app functions are a deal-breaker in the wrong direction—meaning you require a model with no app capability—the Winix C535 or A231 is a better place to compare because those reviewed configurations rely on local controls. The C535 is rated for a smaller 370-square-foot 4.8-ACH area than the T810, while the A231's published 4.8-ACH area is smaller still. If 606 square feet at the same repeated-cleaning rate is essential, none of these three fits; look for a higher verified rating rather than borrowing the T810's slower cycle examples.

The T810 is the most appealing of these Winix choices when you want an exact on-unit PM2.5-style number, app access, an Auto mode and a filter part that Winix names directly for this model. Skip it if you need a proven maximum-noise level, a CFM-confirmed CADR, a no-app purifier or a documented specialized carbon formula. This is a document-based comparison, not a hands-on sound, energy or air-cleaning test.
