LV-H128 or Core Mini-P? Compare two small Levoit desk purifiers

The LV-H128 and Core Mini-P are both small Levoit tabletop purifiers with a replaceable filter and an aroma pad, but their published output is not identical. The LV-H128 is listed at 47 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour and 30 CFM. The white Core Mini-P page lists 53 square feet at 4.8 ACH and 34 CFM. Those are close personal-space numbers, not a meaningful step into a standard bedroom-size tier.

Use one air-change basis

The LV-H128 page separately says 226 square feet at one ACH; Core Mini-P lists 254 square feet at one ACH. Do not compare those larger one-change numbers with the 47- and 53-square-foot 4.8-ACH figures as if they describe the same cleaning pace. If a room needs a repeated 4.8-ACH rating of 140 square feet or more, neither model clears the finder’s compact-room threshold. A larger Core model is the more relevant direction.

The LV-H128’s own replacement-filter listing mentions 161 square feet without stating the ACH basis. That appears on the filter accessory page, not as a separate 4.8-ACH purifier rating. Keep the direct machine-page figures as the comparable values and regard the accessory wording as unqualified rather than a reason to size up its coverage.

Both need open placement despite a small body

The LV-H128 is 6.7 by 6.7 by 10.4 inches; the Core Mini-P is narrower at 6.5 inches and the same listed height. That small width difference may matter on a crowded desk, but both exact manuals call for 15 inches of clearance around the purifier. Measure the operating location, not just the space occupied by the shell. The LV-H128’s upper outlet and side intakes in particular make a shelf cubby an awkward placement.

Both include an aroma pad, but Levoit’s LV-H128 manual is explicit about putting only two or three drops of oil on the separate pad, never on the filter or fan. Oils are not included. Fragrance remains an optional add-on; it does not make either purifier a gas sensor. Both machines use carbon media, but the presence of carbon is not a measurement of every odor or chemical in a room.

Controls, maintenance and unresolved wattage

LV-H128 has one control button cycling Sleep, Low, High and off. Its manual says the display lights fade after five seconds, while the fan continues. Core Mini-P is also direct-control and not app-connected for the reviewed white model; it provides three manual fan speeds. The exact LV-H128 manual does not document app setup even though the product page carries generic VeSync ecosystem material, so app control remains unconfirmed for that model.

Levoit includes two pre-installed combination filters in the LV-H128 single-unit package; the Core Mini-P package includes one pre-installed Original Filter. The LV-H128 manual recommends checking or replacing filters every six to eight months, whereas the Core Mini-P manual gives a four-to-six-month interval. In either case, use the conditions-based guidance: a reminder is not a sensor reading of remaining life. Each asks for routine pre-filter cleaning every two to four weeks. The LV-H128-specific replacement listing confirms a compatible LV-H128-RF filter but describes its item as a single replacement filter, so check the actual package count because the purifier manual lists two filters in the appliance.

LV-H128 has a notable power conflict: its product page lists 6 W and its manual 10 W. Core Mini-P has a settled 7-W listing in its reviewed record. If a hard power ceiling matters, the LV-H128 cannot be treated as confirmed under that limit; an unknown rating should not be a reason to select it.

Pick the routine that belongs in your room

Choose the LV-H128 for a small enclosed zone where a 47-square-foot 4.8-ACH rating is enough and Sleep mode or its aroma box is useful. The Core Mini-P makes more sense if the extra six square feet and four CFM, its narrower body or its clear no-app status better match the setup. Neither should be put into a bigger room because a one-change figure looks roomy, and neither should be pressed against a wall to save desk space.
