Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Will the MightyS fit your room when its 4.8-ACH comparison area is 326 sq ft, rather than the larger 2-ACH figure?
It meets the 219-sq-ft small tier but not the 358-sq-ft medium tier at 4.8 ACH. The 788-sq-ft number uses a slower two-change rate.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you actually want IoCare+ remote access, or do you need a strict no-app purifier?
The HHS adds app/Wi-Fi monitoring, scheduling and remote activation while retaining physical buttons. It does not meet a manual-only requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Must you read a numeric PM2.5 value on the purifier itself?
No such number is documented on the HHS unit; it reports air quality through a color indicator. The Mighty2 AP-1512N is the local numeric-display alternative.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the product page's smoke/dust/pollen CADR figures satisfy a hard CFM minimum?
No. Coway lists 210/246/221 without a unit in the reviewed table, so generic CADR in CFM remains unknown.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the named Pet Allergy Filter with ARC Formula included in the standard HHS box?
The standard listing describes the pre-filter and MAX2 carbon/HEPA set; it does not identify that named pet filter as included. A pet filter need is not met by a separate replacement accessory.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require a local button to turn the optional ionizer on or off?
Coway says an ionizer is optional and can be toggled, but the HHS manual labels the corresponding local control LED Light rather than Ionizer. The local switch path is not confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →The Coway Airmega MightyS AP-1512HHS is the connected branch of Coway’s compact Mighty-style purifier family. Its practical reason to choose it is IoCare+ app access: the maker says the app can check indoor air quality and filter status, deliver outdoor air-quality updates and remotely activate the unit. That convenience does not make it the largest Mighty or a numeric particle monitor. Coway lists a 326-square-foot room at 4.8 air changes per hour, and the appliance itself uses a color air-quality light rather than a documented on-unit PM2.5 number.

Use 326 square feet for the faster room comparison
Coway’s U.S. product page gives three different room figures: 1,575 square feet at one air change per hour, 788 square feet at two, and 326 square feet at 4.8. If you shop by the site’s conservative 4.8-ACH comparison, the MightyS clears the 219-square-foot small-room tier but not the 358-square-foot medium tier. Do not use the 788-square-foot number as if it meant repeated, fast cleaning; it is tied to a slower two-change rate. The published values describe Coway’s stated room-rating basis, not an independent household test.
The product page also lists 210 for smoke, 246 for dust and 221 for pollen under CADR, but the reviewed table does not state a unit beside those numbers. I leave generic CADR in CFM unknown. A hard 210-CFM requirement therefore cannot be met from the pollutant figures alone. The manual’s separate maximum-air-volume specification is not a substitute for a confirmed CADR unit.
Choose it for connected control, not a number on the front
The AP-1512HHS manual identifies the related model number AP-1519P and describes Coway’s IoCare+ app. The appliance also has physical Power, Speed, LED and Wi-Fi buttons, so an app-connected model is not phone-only. Its local choices are Auto, speeds 1 through 3, and Eco. Auto adjusts among the manual speeds using the dust sensor. Eco is different: when the sensor detects no pollution for 30 minutes, the fan stops. If your essential need is steady air movement rather than sensor-led conserving behavior, do not treat Eco as a continuous-speed mode.
Remote access is useful when you want to check the purifier or turn it on away from home, and Coway lists a scheduler plus one-, two-, four- and eight-hour app timers. It is a setup tradeoff: the manual describes Wi-Fi pairing through the app, an account and a home router; users who do not want that connection can turn Wi-Fi off. The manufacturer’s product page lists 24.4–53.8 dB(A), but does not tie each noise figure to a particular fan setting. The manual names no dedicated Sleep or Turbo mode. A toggle for the air-quality indicator is not a sleep-mode or numeric-display substitute.
On the unit, the documented feedback is a color indicator that moves from blue to dark purple to red. The manual calls its input a dust sensor. The app can show indoor air quality, but the reviewed model-specific sources do not establish an app-based numeric PM2.5 readout. If a number must be visible on the purifier itself, this is the wrong branch: the local-control Mighty2 AP-1512N has a documented numeric particle display. If your requirement is a separate gas or TVOC reading, the AP-1512HHS documentation does not confirm one.
Coway’s model FAQ says the optional ionizer can be toggled, but the current manual labels the local button LED Light, not Ionizer. The local on/off path is unclear, so do not rely on it if a dedicated local ionizer switch is essential.
Keep the exact filter identity and recurring chores straight
The standard filtration path is a washable pre-filter followed by one MAX2 assembly containing honeycomb activated carbon and HEPA media. Coway’s manual says to clean the pre-filter every two to four weeks, using water or a vacuum, and to dry it completely before reinstalling. The MAX2 assembly is not washable; the manual’s one-year replacement interval is based on eight hours a day at maximum speed, and real dust and run time can move that schedule. Clean the dust sensor and inlet/outlet routinely as directed, and unplug the purifier before care.
Do not order by the word “Mighty” alone. Coway’s AP-1512HHS filter page identifies the replacement as a different set from AP-1512HH and AP-1512HHC, while using AP-1519P as an alternative name. The standard HHS listing describes a carbon-and-HEPA set; it does not document an included Pet Allergy Filter with ARC Formula or a special pollen/smoke cartridge in the purifier box. Confirm the model code on the unit before ordering a replacement, especially if you are comparing it with an older Mighty.
Measure the placement, then compare the other Mighty branches
The manual gives a body size of 16.81 inches wide, 9.56 inches deep and 18.30 inches high, a weight of 12.34 pounds and an 80-watt rated input. It asks for at least 20 cm from walls or adjacent objects and 30–60 cm above the unit. Those clearances matter more than the shell dimensions if you plan to tuck it beside a bed or cabinet. The product page’s noise range and room rate make it a plausible small-to-smaller-medium connected option, but it is not a fit for a 358-square-foot 4.8-ACH requirement.
Choose the older Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH instead when you want a local-control unit and do not need the app; it has a different filter set and its own room rating. Consider the Mighty2 AP-1512N when a local numeric particle readout matters more than remote control. For a larger connected room, compare the Airmega 250S on its own 4.8-ACH basis rather than assuming “MightyS” means more capacity. The short comparison guide maps the three Coway Mighty names to their control, room-rate and display differences.

| Manufacturer filter-check/replacement guidance | Manual: MAX2 replacement every 1 year based on 8 hours/day at maximum speed; operating conditions can change the interval. Pre-filter is cleaned every 2–4 weeks. |
| Important specification note | Coway lists 326/788/1,575 ft² at 4.8/2/1 ACH. The pollutant-labelled CADR values lack units in the reviewed table; the manual's 268.39 ft³/min maximum-air-volume specification is not CADR. The unit has color-only on-body feedback; a numeric app PM2.5 readout is not established. |
| Placement and care | The front-cover pre-filter is a recurring 2–4-week wash/vacuum task; allow it to dry fully before replacing. The unit needs side and overhead airflow space, plus Wi-Fi/app setup only if remote features are wanted. |
| Built-in bipolar ionizer | Yes |
