Coway model comparison

Coway Mighty, MightyS or Mighty2? Choose by control path and display

The names are close, but the model numbers point to different operating plans. Compare the same-rate room figures first, then decide whether app control or a numeric particle display is the need that changes your choice.

Three names, three exact model codes

Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH is the older direct-control option. Its exact manual and product sources document sensor-led Auto and manual fan speeds without app control. Coway’s current room table lists 361 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour.

Airmega MightyS AP-1512HHS is the connected branch. Its AP-1512HHS/AP-1519P manual documents IoCare+ setup, Wi-Fi, app monitoring and remote operation; local buttons remain on the appliance. Its maker-stated 4.8-ACH room area is 326 square feet. A connection feature does not turn that into the bigger room rating among these three.

Airmega Mighty2 AP-1512N is a separate purifier, not an AP-1512HH finish or a Wi-Fi edition. Its manual supports local Smart/Auto and a numeric display cycling through PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10. Coway states 450 square feet in 15 minutes, equivalent to a four-ACH figure on its stated basis; the 375-square-foot 4.8-ACH comparison is calculated, not directly printed.

Ask what a 4.8-ACH room minimum does

For a room that needs at least 358 square feet at the repeated-air-change comparison, the AP-1512HH’s 361 and the AP-1512N’s calculated 375 meet that threshold; the MightyS’s 326 does not. The line is narrow, so do not treat the numbers as interchangeable with each manufacturer’s larger one-change or two-change headline. A 219-square-foot requirement can admit all three, but an open plan, higher ceiling or quieter operating setting may reduce practical margin.

If connected operation is essential and the MightyS’s room rating is short, compare another app-connected model with enough documented capacity, such as the Airmega 250S, on its own same-rate basis. If a room-size figure is unknown for a model, an essential area limit should not be relaxed just to keep it in the list.

Separate phone features from on-unit feedback

Choose AP-1512HHS when you want to check air quality and filter status through IoCare+, receive the maker’s described outdoor-air updates, schedule operation or turn the purifier on remotely. It still has physical buttons, but a strict no-app requirement rules it out. The manual’s pairing directions require an app account and home-network setup; someone who dislikes that step may prefer AP-1512HH or AP-1512N.

Do not assume the app means every measurement is numeric. The HHS manual describes a color air-quality indicator on the unit, and the reviewed model materials do not establish an on-unit PM2.5 number. The AP-1512N is the documented numeric-on-unit branch. The Mighty and MightyS use color-status feedback in the sources reviewed. If you need a separate gas or TVOC measurement, the dust/particle-sensor descriptions are not a substitute.

Check replacement filters by the complete code

The housings resemble one another, but filter names should not be treated as universal across the family. Coway’s AP-1512HHS filter listing says AP-1512HH and AP-1512HHC use a different filter set. AP-1512N has a separately listed MAX2 replacement and optional filter profiles; that does not establish which profile ships with a standard Mighty2. Check the label on the actual unit and the matching manufacturer replacement page before ordering, especially for a used purifier with an uncertain model suffix.

For the MightyS, the recurring pre-filter wash and full dry are separate from its annual MAX2 replacement reminder. The AP-1512HH has its own filter arrangement and local control routine; the Mighty2’s page/manual differ again. A pet-oriented optional replacement cartridge is not the same thing as an included pet filter or a dedicated Pet Mode. Compare the exact filter package and maintenance schedule rather than buying by the word “Mighty.”

Quick decision

  • Pick AP-1512HHS for app monitoring and remote operation in a room that fits its 326-square-foot 4.8-ACH figure.
  • Compare AP-1512HH if you want a local Auto/manual model without an app and its 361-square-foot figure suits your room.
  • Compare AP-1512N if you want a local numeric particle display and can use its 375-square-foot calculated comparison area.

All three are household purifiers, but your room threshold, willingness to configure Wi-Fi, desired display and replacement-filter identity should be assessed together within one model, not combined across siblings.

Turn the room and the routine into a useful shortlist.
