Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Will the Core 300-P suit a room that fits its published small-room rating at 4.8 air changes per hour?
Levoit’s current page lists 222 ft² at 4.8 ACH, while the linked manual reports its own 5- and 2-ACH figures and says performance takes longer above 219 ft². It can fit a small closed-room need, but leave margin if your actual space is right at the limit.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I choose a manual-only purifier without connecting an app?
Yes. The Core 300-P manual describes physical low, medium and high speed controls, Sleep Mode and a timer; it does not describe app pairing or automatic sensor control. Make sure an offer is the 300-P, not the 300S-P smart sibling.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the body fit where a purifier may be no more than 9 inches wide?
Its listed body width is 8.7 inches. The body measurement does not include the manual’s 15-inch clearance on every side, so check the full operating envelope before using a shelf or alcove.
Explore this need in the finder →The Levoit Core 300-P is the small Core model with direct, three-speed controls instead of the Core 300S-P’s connected AirSight and VeSync features. It suits a no-app routine, but there is no documented sensor-driven Auto Mode or remote adjustment. Levoit lists 143 CFM smoke CADR and rates it for 222 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour—a starting point, not a promise for an open plan or a low fan setting.
Small-room rating, with a few different bases
Levoit lists 1,066 square feet at one air change per hour and 222 square feet at 4.8 ACH. The linked manual instead lists 222 square feet at five ACH and 511 at two, and says purification takes longer above 219 square feet. Those figures use different rate bases; do not treat its 1-ACH or 2-ACH entries as equivalent to the product page’s 4.8-ACH claim. Near the boundary, allow for ceiling height, doorways and the fan speed you will use.
The body is 8.7 inches wide, 8.7 deep and 14.2 high—the same listed envelope as the Core 300S-P. The manual still asks for 15 inches of clearance on every side, so the compact shell does not make a narrow cabinet suitable. Leave the air path open.
One detail conflicts: the white page’s visible specification and manual say 7.9 pounds, while the page’s structured product data says 7.5. No basis for the difference is given, so weight is not a useful comparison point.
Direct controls, not a smart purifier
The manual documents three fan levels, Sleep Mode, a 2-, 4-, 6- or 8-hour timer, display lock and display-off control. Its indicators show speed and timer status, not a numeric PM2.5 reading. It does not describe a particle sensor, Auto Mode, app pairing or voice control. A lower shared product-page block mentions the 300S-P and VeSync, but that copy does not describe this P model. Check the suffix: 300-P is direct-control; 300S-P is the connected sibling.
The 300-P suits a short routine: set a fan speed at the unit and add a timer if useful. Its highest speed is loudest. If particle-responsive Auto Mode, remote scheduling or app history is essential, the similarly sized Core 300S-P is the closer alternative; it adds those functions but still lacks a numeric PM2.5 reading on the unit.
What the filter routine asks of you
The box includes one pre-installed Original Filter. Levoit describes the three-stage arrangement as an outer pre-filter, a main particle filter and activated carbon. Before first use, remove the filter's plastic packaging and reinstall it with the handle facing up; the manual warns that running it wrapped can restrict filtration and overheat the unit. The pre-filter should be brushed or vacuumed every two to four weeks. Do not wash the filter, and do not use water or liquids to clean inside the purifier. The check-filter light is a reminder to inspect, not a sensor that measures remaining particle capacity.
The manual gives six to eight months as the usual replacement interval, but says dustier or more polluted use can shorten it. Reduced airflow, a clogged surface, unusual odor or increased operating noise are reasons to inspect sooner. The standard package is the Original Filter; the manual also lists Core 300-P replacement-filter codes for other needs. Treat a pet- or smoke-focused replacement as a separately selected consumable, not as a feature in the included box. A small unit still needs a regular filter budget and placement with good airflow.
White and black are finishes of the same model
The US pages list white SKU HEAPAPLVNUS0161Y and black SKU HEAPAPLVNUS0034A with the same main specifications and Core 300-P-series manual. The difference is the finish, not a different fan or operating mode. The manual names Core 300 and Core 300-RAC within the series; check the exact SKU on a color-specific offer. Both official images are manufacturer renders, not records of units in a home.

Who should compare another model?
Choose the 300-P if its small-room rating and direct controls suit you. Compare the Core 300S-P if app control and particle-responsive Auto Mode matter more than manual operation; it shares the body size but not the control features. For a larger space, the 400S-P is rated for 358 square feet at 4.8 ACH and adds an on-unit PM2.5 display; the 600S-P is the larger 606-square-foot option. Read the 300-P versus 300S-P comparison for the close-sized siblings. Neither filter stages nor a particle reading makes a gas sensor or replaces source control and ventilation.
