Blueair model comparison

Blue Pure 511 vs 511i Max vs Mini Max Auto

The plain Blue Pure 511, connected 511i Max and Blue Pure Mini Max Auto share compact cylindrical styling, but their room ratings and control routines differ. Compare the room at the same repeated-cleaning rate first, then decide whether you want a manually chosen fan speed, app access or automatic particle response. The model names are similar; the filters and documented functions are not interchangeable by assumption.

Which room rating changes your answer?

If a closed room fits within 105 ft² at 4.8 ACH and you want the fan to react to particles, the Mini Max Auto makes the most sense of these three. If the room is larger than that but still fits the 511’s 189-ft² rating and you prefer a button-selected speed, the plain 511 is the manual choice. If the room needs the 511i Max’s 237-ft² rating, or you require phone access and Auto mode, the connected 511i Max is the better fit. Above 237 ft² at this rate, compare a larger purifier rather than replacing the rate-specific figure with a one-hour headline.

Automation is not the same as an app

The base 511 is direct control: Night, Everyday and Boost cycle from the one button, and the model page explicitly says it has no integrated air sensor. The Mini Max Auto can respond locally to its PM2.5 sensor, but the exact U.S. support material says the Mini family does not connect to the app. The 511i Max adds app functions and PM2.5-driven Auto mode while retaining physical controls. None of these descriptions means that a purifier measures every gas or odor; a particle sensor and activated-carbon filter do different jobs.

Finally, check the replacement cartridge by the exact model name. The 511’s exact filter page limits its Particle + Carbon cartridge to Blue Pure 511. The 511i Max has a separate F5MAX family, while the Mini Max Auto replacement page does not spell out Auto in its compatibility sentence. Do not buy a filter on family styling alone.
