Blueair model fit

Blueair 411i+ Max or 511i Max? Compare compact-room fit

The Blue Pure 411i+ Max occupies a narrow space between Blueair’s smaller connected purifier and the larger 311-series cylinders: it is rated for 259 square feet at 4.8 ACH, has a 20-watt input and a 10.6-inch-wide shell. It can fit a small room where Auto mode, app scheduling and physical buttons are useful, but it is not an automatic choice for a medium-room threshold or for anyone who requires a numeric particle reading at the unit.

Pick by the room you will actually clean

In this site's questionnaire, the 411i+ Max clears the small-room 219-square-foot minimum but does not clear the medium-room 358-square-foot minimum. The 511i Max is slightly smaller in the shell and lower in the listed 4.8-ACH area; the 411i+ adds 22 square feet of rate-labeled area at a 3-watt increase and a taller, wider body. If you need a medium-room threshold, skip both small models and compare the 311i Max or 311i+ Max. A connected living/dining room, open doors or a high ceiling is not equivalent to a single closed room at the published test basis.

Blueair's page for the 411i+ Max is particularly easy to misread: the browser title says 526 square feet, while its detailed table and room-size FAQ say 259 square feet at 4.8 ACH. The same FAQ separately says 1,080 square feet in an hour. Use the figure tied to the stated repeat rate for this comparison; preserve the other claims as unresolved, not as proof the unit will clean twice the area at the same speed. The manufacturer also says the figures were updated to reflect DOE standards. Those are claims on a product page, not our independent room test.

Know which information reaches the panel

All four products here have app and manual-control options, Auto mode and a five-color particle status light. The 411i+ Max manual documents PM2.5 sensing, but a color indicator is not a numerical readout, and a particle sensor is not a gas or TVOC sensor. If a numeric particle value at the device is important, compare the 211i Max review; it has a different, more detailed on-unit particle display. If avoiding app-capable equipment is essential, these connected Blue Pure Max models do not meet a manual-only requirement even though each has local buttons.

Separate purifier fit from accessory fit

The 411i+ Max single-unit box includes a Particle & Carbon cartridge and Stockholm Fog cloth sleeve. The base filter and cloth are sufficient for the documented standard plan. The F4MAX replacement page offers allergen- and smoke-oriented filters, but its own copy conflicts over whether they fit the “411i+ Max”; the corresponding cloth-pre-filter page also omits the plus model from a compatibility list. Until Blueair clears those exact compatibility statements, do not base a hard requirement on future specialty cartridge or alternate-color availability. The 511i Max has an F5MAX replacement family, while the 311i+ Max names the F3MAX+ family. Similar names and comparable shapes are not evidence of interchangeable replacements.

For the basic routine, the manual calls for checking the red replacement indicator, unplugging before service, cleaning the outer fabric according to its label and replacing rather than washing the main filter. The product-page “up to one year” language and the manual's six-to-nine-month guidance do not produce a guaranteed change date; room dust, fan use and pollution matter. A washable sleeve does not remove the need to plan for a proprietary cartridge.

Choose the 411i+ Max when the 259-square-foot repeated-cleaning figure, small cylindrical footprint and app/Auto/color-feedback combination fit your room and routine. Choose the 511i Max if its shorter 14.5-inch shell is the more important fit or its smaller area is enough. Move to a 311i-series product when your room threshold is larger; compare the rate-labeled values rather than headline claims. None of these plain-dB values is a verified dB(A) ceiling, and no one generic CADR value is established for this model.

Model figures are from Blueair’s exact U.S. product pages and manuals; filter boundaries come from its model-specific replacement pages. See the full Blue Pure 411i+ Max assessment for the 259/526/1,080 room-claim conflict and filter-compatibility caveat.
